23 degrees, what to do?

bake of course! i figure what better to do on a cold day with all the snow outdoors, than bake some warm cookies to make me fat and help insulate me for the winter. it is my plan and i am stucking to it. so our recipe of choice for today is as simple as can be:

cream cheese-chocolate chip cookies
1-3oz pkg of cream cheese
2 sticks of softened unsalted butter ( i used salted and they still taste yummy)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
12 oz. pkg. semi sweet choc chips
2 tsp orange zest (agian i swayed from the recipe here, i had no oranges so skipped this and still yummy)

beat cream cheese, butter & sugar on high. beat in eggs & vanilla until smooth. reduce speed to low, beat in flour & salt. stir in chips and orange zest. drop tsp. fuls into cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10-12 min, til edges are lightly browned. makes appx. 54 cookies
