Project Spoon

today, as every morning when i get a few quiet moments, i logged on and clicked on my favorite blogs and found this wonderful post from my friend andrea. a. is a "wife~ mother ~painter" who eventhough we have never spoken or met, i admire through her comments, input, and support through this funny family we find via the computer. i can feel like she is just sitting here with me sharing a cup of my creme brulee coffee watching the kids play talking about what exciting things she has brewing in her creative life. about a week ago kellen was chatting about his upcoming 4th brithday and giving his daddy and i a laundry list of things he hoped for. "ummmm i want twubulsum twucks and neville and duck, ( all thomas trains for those not in the know) and a picture." the thomas trains were of no surprise to me but a picture? a picture of what i asked him and his reply was simple and sure, "a spoon" i asked again thinking i must have misunderstood, "A SPOOOONNNN!" ok i did hear him right. well his daddy and i got a chuckle out of this, but kellen was quite serious. that night i thought hmmm i wonder if i sent this little request out to some ladies i admire on flikr, who knows what may happen... and VOILA! beauty (from happy hippy hay)! and fun! everyone responded to my request saying yes this sounds like fun, some even passed it along to others. these ladies all have busy creative lives, families, but they took the time and thought and far exceeded anything i had ever imagined. i never would have guessed from kellen's little request would come such beauty and generousity. thank you a. she is right, you never know what is possible with such a simple little request (a big heart and some awesome talent to boot!) . thank you.

Isn't it amazing! It just gives me goosebumps to think about all the beauty that a few spoons brought.
...and yes, I am having coffee with you. Both of us with our socks and sandles. :)
Hugs my friend,
