baby its COLD outside!

woke this am to 14 below zero temperature and that is with sun! (thank goodness)  so we are staying warm with some "essentials"  (ok i use this term loosely) ... my morning coffee in my biggest cup in the house, a movie on demand for the little ones, and some of this...
can you smell it?   it is good.
choc chip X & O.
yes i am that cheesy.
so good i have to share...

banana pecan chocolate chip bread:
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter (1 stick) softened
2 lg. eggs
3 ripe bananas (mine were really ripe, verge of spoiled)
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. pecans chopped
1/2 c. chocolate chips (semisweet or dark chocolate)

grease 8 x 4 metal loaf pan
cream sugar butter and eggs in mixer. mix in bananas, flour, baking soda, salt and pecans.
lastly, add choc chips.  stir those by spoon not mixer.
pour batter into prepared pan.
place loaf in COLD oven.  set oven to 300 degrees and bake for 1 and 1/2 hours or until toothpick or skewer inserted in center comes clean.
cool bread in pan for 5 mins. then remove and cool completely.
*** of course you can leave choc. or nuts out if you like.  but why???  lol
i like to eat it warmed with butter. mmmmmm
happy flare friday all.  i have no flares this week. :(
i look forward to seeing any you may have gotten though.
stay in, wrap up, cuddle, bake, hug and kiss, listen to this sweet song taylor found on you tube today too, just stay warm!

this is perfect kristin. you've inspired me to make banana bread this weekend for the first time since my mother passed away. i used to make it (also with pecans and choco chips) every morning - for weeks - to bring to the nurses in the critical care unit, where we would all spend our days together. i was so grateful to them all, and what better way to show love, eh?

by the way, i'm moving in with y'all on sunday. if you're out, you can just leave a key under the mat.
