just as the calendar is ticking down on summer, summer has finally arrived.
i will not complain.
i will sweat and smile, oh yes i will.
S M I L E :))
i would much rather sweat and take an extra shower or 2 ANY day over shoveling or shivering or being in a closed up house. i can be barefoot all day. who cares?! my van is filled with sand. again, who cares?! my skin is sunkissed, not cracked and pasty. i smell like sun lotion and salt and sweat. i like that. we can ride in the jeep with the top down and the doors off. my kids play and play and play til they drop into bed wearing nothing but their cute undies and sleep the sleep of happy tired little ones. i take a late COLD shower, lay on my bed, my fan humming over my head, my window wide open, while crickets sing me to sleep. that my friends is heaven to me. fall is pretty and nice yes, and i do love blue jeans and a great sweater, but it is far too fleeting and we all know what it leads to... so for now i will soak up these lazy hot days. even the rains have stopped.
if you need me you can find me under that fan.
yes definitely here.
happy monday.

I just loved this post!! I'm so torn between wanting autumn to be here and wanting summer to slow down a bit. I can't believe how quickly the days are coming and going!! I'm not ready for homework and having to be on a schedule yet!! Loved the beach umbrellas, too!!

I too, love autumn when it comes, but oh dearest summer...please stay a little longer...
love your descriptions of the season. i miss having windows that open.
Bee-you-tiful! Now, I hope the smell of detergent has left the van...
no d not yet. ugh. but i still have not taken the hose to it. how do you spell procrastinator??? kristin, that's how.
Me too.
Love that shot of the umbrellas! I love NOW too and I am taking advantage of every second.
We're trying to embrace the heat as well with long days at the beach and windows open to the blast-furnace breeze, becuase hey, like you said, winter in Maine is just around the bend.
I empathize, we were down your way and hit cresent for a reprieve, now some 400 mile north we are still trying to exorcize sand from the van. Thankfully the heat let up to let us sleep last night-but autumn can hold off a little, although we saw some leaves changing in your neck of the woods :(
