friday morn

i open the door and the cold winter wind rushes in, invading my warm bubble of home. the dog runs out and then proceeds to pace on the deck, she keep looking back at me so again i open the door and feel the cold rush of air as i encourage her, "go bayley!!!" nope, she looks at me with that look i know, she wants company. i throw on my long sweater, slip on my husbands big boots and tromp out onto the deck where i am instantly blinded by sun on snow. it is that deep blue that i have only ever seen in winter. it is so blue it is striking, almost shocking. i turn on my heels and run back inside and grab my camera. that blue demands it. i look straight up at my roof line, the sweeping inches of snow against the blue make a beautiful contrast, then it appears, not our usual noisy crow, no this time a lone seagull, floating, wings spread, welcoming the morning. hello bird. then it hits me i have not left my home in days except for required trips: to the grocery store, to shovel, to pick up kellen at school. i have not gone out just because. today i see i need to. i must. a walk in the woods or maybe a climb over that snow bank to reach the beach. something, anything. i need some sun on my face and fresh air in my lungs and to walk off a bit of this cabin fever that has set in my bones and in my head.
hello sun.
hello blue sky.
here i come.

happy weekend everyone.

Yes, i was thinking the same thing, i need to get out of the house and take some pictures today. i can't wait to see what you find. :) today is supposed to be our last day of sunshine for the next week...more snow in the forecast, ugh. stay warm up there and have fun on your adventure today! :)

What a gorgeous photo! Your dog must have known a great shot was waiting out there.
