CSA day

well it has finally arrived. our very first CSA ( Community Supported Agriculture) pick up at Wildroot Farm. this is all new to me. i have always enjoyed farmers market shopping but up here there seems to be less options for that as we had in PA. so i researched a few CSA farms, had applied at one closer to our home, but they were already full for the year and had sold all their shares (good for them means they will thrive and survive the year in farming) but they pointed me in the direction of another farm a bit further drive but one that may have shares left. so we are proud owners of a 2008 growing season share. i really have no idea what to expect. i know it is an organic farm run by 2 women farmers who use work horses to plow. i know we get to pick up a weeks worth of fresh grown veggies every tuesday through fall. i hope this pushes me to expand my recipe knowledge and pallete since i will be using ingredients i may not normally buy at the grocery store. and i had also hoped the kids love it. a nice country drive to get there and a weekly field trip to the farm. pick up is from 2-7pm. of course i will be taking my camera. (duh) so pics to follow.
