i have decided to participate in Ali Edwards', "a week in the life" challenge also posted over at shutter sisters. where for 1 week i will document my day with photos and words, like a journal so to speak. i am no scrap booker or journal writer so his will make me really use my photos to share a glimpse into 1 week in my life.
Monday:
this morning i went to the printers to pic up a few prints which is SO rare it was a little exciting to see some photos in print, while we waited the kids and i took a walk around the block to admire all the gorgeous leaves. we found some "kacorns" or tops of "kacorns" which casey so aptly called a hat, she made a bouquet of beautiful leaves that we then brought home with us, kellen found a stick to beat more leaves off for us (oops). then prints in hand we went to the beach since the rain had stopped. then remembering that i forgot our buckets. this is not looked kindly upon by 1 treasure hunter in particular. i scrounged a paper bag from my car, but knowing that this would just get wet and rip i probably should have just not given it to him at all. hind sight is 20/20 yes? the tide was in we walked all the way to the end of the beach where the rock jetty is, where we found some love graffiti and a seal! he was quite shy and every time i thought i had a good shot of him he disappeared only to reappear no where near where i had my lens pointed but still so fun and exciting to see even if i have no proof of this for you. we did catch a monarch fluttering on the beach and i got 1 great shot of it (after taking about 12 rapid fire) . the kids got wet , of course. they ran and splashed and explored, it was a good walk. on the drive home i had to pull over to take some shots of this tree ablaze in orange and the grass littered with its leaves. it is my fave pic of fall to date. then home for naps, sissy (taylor, kids call her "sissy") was at school and then home for a minute it seemed only to be off to the homecoming game (which they lost) & bonfire. then dinner and leggos after that. kellen made a pirate robot and i made a rat robot and daddy made a car, casey watched and put leggos in her mouth. then a book and bed. then i played forever on flickr and even ordered some new moo cards for hope notes, oh how i love moo cards. good night, see ya all tomorrow.

sounds and looks like the perfect day my friend.
what a nice idea. i might have to try.
I stumbled across your blog a few weeks ago and am very much enjoying it...particularly as a long-time vermonter now stuck in the south - I miss the beauty and life of new england. I am writing now as I have a blog of my own in the works and wanted to ask how you created the montage of photos you have in this post and in your header. I am a bit technologically challenged and trying to figure out all these things as I go so thought you might be able to provide some guidance. thank you!
rebecca thank you for stopping by and commenting the mosaics are fun and super easy, really really easy if you use flickr fr y our photos. but you go to www.bighugelabs.com and click on their make a mosaic icon. you can either quickly use your flickr photos OR choose to upload photos if you are not a flickr user. you choose how many rows and columns and voila you have your self a mosaic. beware they are highly addictive. hee-hee! good luck.
oh and vermont? where?????
Thanks for the photo info - I'll try it today! I lived most of my time in Vermont in Richmond about 20 minutes SE of Burlington. I try to get back once a year but haven't been back for fall since I left 4 years ago - I really miss it. Thanks again!
You know I've read "moo cards" now twice in the last day. What are those???
Another friend on flickr just ordered prints thorugh flickr and said they rocked it out. I need to try a new company.
Love the story of your day...always.
