well as it happens i owe a certain friend a cup of jo and something yummy, so why not jump off this trip in the kingdom, the northeast kingdom of Vermont. we would head to Montpelier because who doesn't want a little love from their coffee. and did you know this quaint little coffee and bake shop nestled in the hills of northern vermont is owned and run my Sandra Bullock's sister? yep. so who knows, maybe have a little celebrity sighting while we are sipping down these lovelies. and as if the foam heart wasn't enough, i adore these mugs in color and style. so much so i sent them an email way back asking if i could purchase one, or where i might purchase one, ummmm no they did not return my email. no bother. oh and with our coffee we will have to grab 2 of these from Rainbow Sweets in Marshfield. of course i packed my new knitting needles and yummy golden yarn of my dreams in hopes that diane will take pity on me, hold my hand again, and cast on for me. then we will sit and knit S L O W L Y. cause good things take time you know. then we will go for a hike up Nichols Ledge or maybe over to Caspian Lake. then maybe over to the Wayside Restaurant for dinner , the owners happen to be family.
other cool things i know of but have not done myself are Bread & Puppet, Circus Smirkus, and for the eaters (not to be confused with the foodies, eaters eat food that takes darn good no matter what, that would be me) you could print out my buddy mph's, gastronomic tour of vermont if you are brave enough.
for pals on this stop i know andie wants to come, and maybe we could round up maya, martha & rachel as well.
please remember this is all just for fun. a little fantasizing from my strange brain. when i got this idea late last night, i whipped out my journal (covered in dust) and once i got started thinking of who i would like to see and meet and where we might go, my hand couldn't stop. i was all over the pages. in the margins arrows and doodles. it all made me smile. is it a bit silly yes, probably so, but we teach our children that pretend play is so good, so nurturing, why can't this momma have a little pretend too?
oh and don't forget today's playlist.....
well diane lived a whole other life in CA back in the day, even served burritos at Dead shows. this makes me love her even more. i love the little quirks and tid bits you learn along the way. i too was a deadhead in high school. tie dyes, the music, the live tapes, my ankle bracelet made of bells (you know the ones i mean , every step was a jingle of bells) barefooted, long skirts, avid concert goer, yep and i too saw the dead live, only once, i wish it were more. but who knows maybe diane and i crossed paths long ago and she served me a burrito at a show. i like to think so. so in honor of that thread i choose... Uncle John's Band. i have many dead songs i love , so many, but when ever i hear this song i turn it way up and sing very loud and i remember that me back then, so free and full of myself and my ideas, and i smile thinking of her.
so you still thinking?
where would you go???
come back tomorrow, i'm heading a little further south...
