filling the tank

it was a long week. i was glad to see it go. i needed to stretch my legs, my mind, me. to make room for the next week. sun came out today i was glad to see it. it was cold. really that is an understatement. it was in the 20's but add 25 mph winds to that and well you get biting. but i was going. lunch date with my momma with some great savory soup. then solo trip to target for errands and then where? nowhere to be and a wide open road. went south to a different beach.  needed a different view.  walked on the smooth stones, played with the sandpipers and gulls, found 3 pieces of sea glass, 1 large heart rock, and 2 spirals for my treasure lovers back home. i got in and out of the jeep several times. it just hurt my hands so much to be out for too long but it was good, and the jeep has a kick butt heater and a radio i can play really loud and sing really loud too. it was so loud yet so quiet all at once.

Love the idea of filling the tank. I need to take a ride by myself too. I am always afraid I will see something that someone in my family would appreciate, I guess that is why I have a camera. =]

This is such a great set of pictures. I too love the idea of filling up the tank. I think that's what today will be like for me.

And, just think - only 53 short more days until Spring!

I do that a lot - being single I guess it's easier, but I love just getting in the car and going where the road takes me. I'm glad you were able to get away.

good for you chica. I think one of the hardest thing for me to learn after becoming a mama has been to make sure to get that time alone, away.. to recharge my batteries.. to refill the tank. Thanks for the reminder. Your day sounded like heaven to me. I would have loved to have been on that beach too. =0) So happy for you.

I'm so glad you got to have a day like that! Beautiful images as always; neat to read the story behind them and not just admire them without context on flickr.
