our "great adventure"

fresh snow today
out for a walk in the woods
just he and i
he found a trusty walking stick, oh so perfect for banging tree limbs and raining down snow on his head.  he laughed and laughed and did it again and again.  he didn't want to go back.
even had snow stuck on his lashes.
he loved it.  i loved watching.  the magic of snow.   to them it makes everything clean and fresh and fluffy.  they see snowmen and snow to eat and the sound your boots make crunching where no one has walked yet that day.  making tracks, finding cones, sticking out your tongue over and over to catch the elusive flake.
walking home he said, "we had a great adventure mommy!"
we sure did.
he can make even me like winter...

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things"

I love, love, LOVE these photos from today! My boyfriend and I had an adventure in the snow today, too. I hate the cold, but there's not much that can stop me from walking out in the snow and enjoying the beauty of fresh snow blanketing everything.

Hey if it can't be me in the snow-I'm glad you and K had a great day in it:) D and I love that song but you should hear his version of the words-they're different every time and NEVER close to the song! This weekend he included "whipples" in it during our 5 min. of snow. XO
