hello friday

it has been "a week."
one that i am glad to see go.
my mom had surgery (she is home resting and recuperating), my hubby caught my cold, my teenager is... a teenager, it is rainy and cold, and we turn the clocks back this weekend (less daylight.. sigh...) feeling a bit dreary, what to do?  cook.  i opened up my loved cookbook and searched for homey and comfort in a cast iron pot. i figured we could all use a heaping helping of those things. i came up with chicken and dumplings. it was good. and it made plenty to share, which is something i truly love.

i found this video earlier this week at amy's blog and it made me smile. i could play this on continuous loop.
i love a harvest moon.  i love this sweet neil young song.
and i love me some eddie vedder.  i think i love eddie more today than i did as a teenager.

happy friday everyone. xo.

"But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night."

I share in the Eddie Vedder love. A lovely song to hear first thing this a.m.

I too feel the need for comfort foods lately. It's brown sugar pork roast and baked potatoes for us this evening.
