progress

yesterday the bug hit me again.
the need to finish casey's quilt.
in daylight i layered and pinned and seamed.
by lamplight i embroidered the personal touches.

we call her wildflower. her daddy gave her that nickname when she was very little. it fits her to a t. she is wild and she is beautiful, just like a wildflower. so i knew the details on her quilt would be flowers. she loves my jar of old buttons, so i used a few of them for the flower heads. i had forgotten how much i loved to embroider. i did a bunch of needlework as a kid with my mom as my teacher. this brings it all back to me. now all i have left to finish is the bottom seam and then a turn around the machine once more to top stitch the whole quilt.

these darker/colder days shift my focus inward and indoors...
please join me at shutter sisters today where i blab all about it. :)

Every time I see photos of that quilt I am so amazed. It melts my heart. How perfect you are incorporating the name her daddy calls her into it as well.
